World is going through a technology revolution with almost 50 different emerging technologies on the horizon, of which seven key technologies will become mainstream over the next five years. These seven technologies include 3D Printing, Artificial Intelligence, Augmented Reality, Blockchain, Internet of Things, Intelligent Vehicles and Smart Robots. Over the next 20 to 30 years, these technologies are expected to create more than 50 trillion dollars in market impact.
In addition to these 7 technologies, there are 42 more identified by the top researchers in emerging technologies and are cataloged by TechCast Global - the most authoritative source of technology forecasts. Technology research and commercialization people often challenged by the face paced development in these technologies.
In this half-day training, technology entrepreneur and emerging technologies expert, Hassan Syed, will explain the full technology landscape, how emerging technologies are clustered to create business value and the process of commercialization. In addition to the landscape, Hassan will share insights on industry-academia gap and strategies on how create demand for upcoming research.

Pakistan is number 116 out of 140 countries in the Knowledge Economy Index. The speed at which emerging technologies are growing, the opportunity window is small for Pakistan to have a sizable knowledge-based economy, advancing the indigenous applications in the emerging technologies and offering competitive knowledge products in the global market. Universities are leading the change but without developing indigenous demand through solutions to the indigenous problems, most of the talent will eventually be hired by foreign companies.

Course Format and scheduling:
Four hours online class-room program and an hour for Q/A session.

Hassan Syed is the CEO of Bir Ventures USA, founder of IdeaGist, founding director of Minnesota Innovates, and a founding director of the Institute for Innovators and Entrepreneurs at Hamline University Minnesota. He is also on the advisory committee to the Minister of Information Technology and Telecom on Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Emerging Technologies. He is also part of the President's National Committee on Emerging Technologies under the Digital Pakistan initiative.
Dr. Art Murray is a technologist, a futurist, a philosopher, and CEO of Applied Knowledge Sciences, Inc., where he has been CEO for over 25 years. Dr. Murray is Director at the International Institute for Knowledge and Innovation.
He’s the Director of the Enterprise of the Future Programme at the International Institute for Knowledge and Innovation in Washington DC, and author of two books: “Deep Learning Manual: the knowledge explorer's guide to self-discovery in education, work, and life,” and “Building the Enterprise of the Future: Co-creating and delivering extraordinary value in an eight-billion-mind world”
For the past 14 years, he has written a column in KMWorld magazine entitled: “The Future of the Future”. He has led Knowledge Management projects for government Ministries around the world in Defense, Law Enforcement, Higher Education, Public Health, and the whole of government, and for private sector companies in the energy, aerospace, finance, agriculture, and many other areas.
He is currently developing programs for human and machine knowledge governance, and developing systems in which humans teach machines and machines teach humans
